Flights are definitely higher this year. US travel demand is supposed to be up this summer. And with recent airfare hikes this year, none of this is a surprise. A while back, I did a write up which looked at the cost of taxes and fees when flying. Looking at this chart may surprise some people as they see how much of the total cost for some of these flights is taxes and fees.
