Today’s photo of the Louvre was taken by David Elwood and was submitted in the Amateur Traveler March Photo contest.

David says:

The picture was taken on a trip to Paris/London I took with my wife. You can see it was taken on Valentine’s Day, and that is our 17th wedding anniversary. I had arranged a private tour of the Louvre with one of the guide groups for my wife and I. We arrived early, around 9am, and I started taking pictures of the outside of the Louvre. I had recently been reading some photo sites suggesting using reflections and/or changing white balance on the camera. I am still somewhat unfamiliar with the new camera I received for Christmas so I set the white balance to fluorescent and started snapping. It came out a bit strange colored but the composition was not too bad; a mix of angles and reflections. The new pyramid structure can be seen contrasting with the older Louvre museum building, and both stand in the reflection.

To submit your photo to win a copy of “RALPH VELASCO On Travel Photography – 101 Tips for Developing Your Photographic Eye & More” join the Amateur Traveler facebook fan page and submit your photo. March’s theme is either Spring or Reflections.
